Atlanta Local Food Foward

The Atlanta Local Food Initiative (ALFI), a coalition of citizens and organizations, has begun a grassroots movement to reconfigure our food system to promote the health of our people, our economy, and our environment. Join us on May 1, 2009, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm at St. Philip's Cathedral located at, 2744 Peachtree Road, NW Atlanta, GA, 30305.

We invite you to participate in a one-day event to create an action plan for achieving the vision outlined in "A Plan for Atlanta's Sustainable Food Future"

Atlanta Local Food Forward! will gather key stakeholders from the Atlanta community including representatives from government, NGOs, business, agriculture, education, advocates, funders and interested citizens. The day includes an address by keynote Dr. Bob Randall from Houston's Urban Harvest, networking, working group sessions, and a "harvest" of ideas and next steps. Expected outcomes of this meeting are:

* New strategic partnerships collaborating on Atlanta's sustainable food future
* Action commitments focused on plan elements
* Identification of opportunities to use stimulus funds for the food agenda
* Recommendations to sustain the coalition of stakeholders moving forward.

Registration is $25/person and includes a local, organic lunch. Sponsorships are available for $100 which includes logo recognition opportunities online and at the event and one registration.
