Livingston Restaurant to Open

Fremont Realty Capital, in partnership with Puccini Group and Crescent Hotels and Resorts, announces the opening of Livingston Restaurant and Bar on April 24, 2009. The restaurant is located across the street from The Fox Theatre and offers Atlantans an innovative, bold reflection of local flavor and history under the culinary direction of Executive Chef Gary Mennie.

The new dining destination takes its name from Livingston Mims, who served as Atlanta's mayor during the early 20th century. Known as a consummate entertainer with a passion for wine and fine food, Mims' two-story residence was located on the northeast corner of Peachtree Street and Ponce de Leon Avenue. With its opening, Livingston Restaurant and Bar proudly claims this same location and pays homage to the strong legacy of Atlanta's spirit and history at this address.

Acclaimed Chef Gary Mennie is at the helm of the Livingston kitchen. He has been an established Atlanta favorite for many years and debuted on the city's culinary scene in 1995 when he was hand-picked to lead the opening team at Canoe. During his tenure there, Mennie's performance garnered him a Mobil Four Star rating. After leading Canoe for 10 years, he opened his first solo venture, the highly praised Taurus restaurant.

At Livingston, Mennie prepares inventive local cuisine, drawing inspiration from his passion for fresh ingredients and innovative dining. The menu focuses on straightforward, yet refined, American classics that incorporate a modern culinary style. The menu features an abundance of fresh-grown produce and seasonal ingredients supplied by local and regional vendors and artisans. Inventive dishes will include the following items: White Oak Pastures Flat Iron Steak, Short Ribs and Crispy Gnocchi; Georgia Mountain Trout with Braised Artichokes and Spring Peas; and Riverview Farms Berkshire Pork with Vidalia Onion Tart.

Offering five distinctive atmospheres, Livingston Restaurant and Bar provides a comfortable and urbane culinary option for every guest. As the city's premier pre- and post-theatre destination, show patrons can enjoy signature cocktails at The Bar at Livingston, small plates in the lounge or a multi-course meal in the main dining room. In addition, the upper level of the restaurant, known as The Loge at Livingston, offers a quieter dining experience perfect for downtown business lunches or other intimate occasions, while still in view of the action below. Livingston offers an intimate, tucked away private dining room that can accommodate up to 16 guests for cocktail and dining events and boasts great views of Peachtree Street and The Fox Theatre. Finally, the expansive columned terrace overlooking Peachtree Street features one of the most unique outdoor dining options in Atlanta. Complimentary valet parking rounds out the easy dining experience and is ideal for patrons attending shows at The Fox Theatre.
