Cacoa Launches In Atlanta

Cacao is thrilled to introduce the exclusive Cacao bean-to-bar line of chocolates at their April 1 launch reception which will take place at Cacao's chocolate boutique and laboratoire at 312 C North Highland Ave (across from Fritti and The Grape). This initial local launch will ultimately lead to the final destination of the Love Bar in 2010.

Kristen Hard, Master Chocolatier and Proprietor of Cacao, will join a select cadre of American bean-to-bar chocolate makers who are sourcing their own cocoa beans and utilizing specialized equipment and knowledge to guide them through the process.

Few may know the real difference between a chocolatier and a chocolate maker. A chocolatier is someone who makes chocolate from couverture, pure solid chocolate most often bought from a different producer. Very few chocolatiers make their own chocolate. A chocolate maker is someone that buys and roasts cocoa beans and grinds them into chocolate.

Cacao will join the distinguished list of less than twenty large and small -scale chocolate makers in the United States and will be the first producer in the Southeast.

Each bar will have its own certificate of authenticity with the origin of the cocoa bean and the date of production.

Cacoa Atlanta is open Tuesday-Sunday from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. For more information about the launch party or their hand-made chocolate line, call (404) 221-2626 or visit their website www.cacaoatlanta.com
