Smoothie King Leads Development in Sweet Auburn

With the support of the Atlanta Developmental Authority, local entrepreneurs and Downtown East community supporters Hope Boldon, Vicki Lundy Wilbon and Rita Gibson recently opened a Smoothie King franchise in Renaissance Walk at Sweet Auburrn, a mixed-use development.

The nutritional lifestyle center is the first retail business to open in the new development, which spans a city block at the intersection of Auburn and Piedmont Avenues. The address for Renaissance Walk is 171 Auburn Avenue and Smoothie King is in Suite C fronting Piedmont Avenue.

"As African American women, we are so proud to do our part to support the redevelopment of this area, steeped in local history and poised to once again be a thriving and inspiring community," said Boldon. "We knew we wanted to open a business that would help promote healthy lifestyles and saw Smoothie King as the perfect complement to the area."

Boldon and her partners strongly believe in providing healthy choices for their community. With so many in Atlanta on the go, Smoothie King smoothies are perfect for those seeking a convenient and nutritious snack or meal replacement. Plus, with its proximity to Georgia State University, Grady Memorial Hospital, Hughes Spaulding Children's Hospital, The King Center,
and three of the city's largest churches, the trio is already reaching out and serving folks throughout their new neighborhood.

The new store hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Designated Smoothie King guest parking is available on the ground level of the building's parking deck.
