Atlanta Chef Jamika Pessoa has been selected as one of the top ten finalists to compete on the newest season of the Food Network show "The Next Food Network Star." Pessoa's unique spin on Caribbean cooking and her sassy personality made her stand out from the rest in auditions for the show.
This season's ten finalists are: Brett August (Washington Heights, N.Y.), Katie Cavuto (Philadelphia, Pa.), Melissa d'Arabian (Keller, Texas), Teddy Folkman (Alexandria, Va.), Eddie Gilbert (Los Angeles, Calif.), Jen Isham (Orlando, Fla.), Debbie Lee (West Hollywood, Calif.), Jamika Pessoa (Atlanta, Ga.), Michael Proietti (City Island, N.Y.), and Jeffrey Saad (Los Angeles, Calif.).
The show premiers Sunday, June 7th at 9 pm on the Food Network. In its fifth year, Iron Chef Bobby Flay will head up the judging committee, which will analyze each contestant's performance for culinary quality as well as TV-worthy personality.
