Fall Beer Tasting @ City Grill

In the spirit of celebrating its 20th year in downtown Atlanta, City Grill will hold a Fall Beer Tasting on Thursday, September 25, at 6:30 p.m. Adriana Danley of Georgia Crown will be the guest speaker and has secured several seasonal libations that will allow guests to be some of the first to taste them this season in Atlanta. The restaurant will offer a sampling of Chef Shan Holler’s light appetizers to compliment these seasonal beers. The festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a social gathering for $25 per person to include the beer tasting and tapas. You can now get breakfast anytime at Einstein's in Midtown. Items such as the Spinach-Feta Omelette, Veranda Platter, Smoked Salmon Bagel, Grand Marnier French Toast and Yogurt-Granola Parfait are featured. City Grill will present a tasting of red wines from South Africa on Wednesday, July 9, at 6:30 p.m.  The guest speaker will be be  Michael O’Conner of Empire Distributors and the restaurant will offer a sampling of light hors d’oeuvres to compliment the wines. $25 per person. www.citygrillatlanta.com. 


Highland Bakery in the Old Fourth Ward has expanded -- temporarily -- to the Lake Claire Pool. The pool is only open to members, but those who are will be able to enjoy sandwiches, pizza, bagels, smoothies, fruits and much more. The Highland Bakery at The Pool will be operate Thursday and Friday from 3 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. www.highlandbakery.com.

City Grill Australian Wine Event, June 11

City Grill will host a tasting of white wines from Australia on June 11 to follow our theme for 2008 of Wines from the Southern Hemisphere.  Each month City Grill features a country or region south of the equator that it feels is making some of the best wines available.  For June, the guest speaker will be Leslie Maske of Prestige Wines. The restaurant will offer a sampling of light hors d’oeuvres to compliment these sumptuous wines from “The Land Down Under”. The festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a social gathering for $25 per person to include the wine tasting and tapas. 

City Grill is also featuring wines from Australia on the wine list throughout the entire month of June.  The wines will also be paired with complimentary dishes on the Chef’s Tasting Menu on June 11 for those who would like to experience a meal dedicated to the delights of the wines from Australia.  Those who attend both the Wine Tasting Event and The Chef’s Tasting Menu will receive the total package for $75 all-inclusive.

Chef Shan Holler will  prepare alternative selections for those who have special dietary needs.
