Parish Wine Tastings Continue

The hot new Inman Park eatery, Parish, is now hosting a wine tasting series every other Monday at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $25 per person and include a sampling of five wines uniquely selected by Parish's wine staff, perfectly paired with a delicious cheese and/or housemade charcuterie selections by Executive Chef Tim Magee. Here's the summer schedule:

July 14: Latin Passion (wines south of the equator)
July 28: Jam Session (improvised tasting)
August 11: Pretty in Pink (roses)
August 25: Tasty Homegrown Stuff (Gerogia Wines)

First Wine Event @ Parish, June 30

Parish Foods & Goods in Inman Park will host its first wine event on Monday, June 30, at 7 p.m. In honor of the 4th of July, there will be a "blind" tasting of All-American wines. The cost is $25 per person, not including tax and gratuity. Along with the wine there will be cheese and homemade charcuterie from executive chef Tim Magee. Wine tastings will be held every other Monday, so ask about upcoming events and check the website. Space is limited, so reservations are required by calling (404) 681-4434. Parish is at 240 N. City Grill Australian Wine Event, June 11

City Grill will host a tasting of white wines from Australia on June 11 to follow our theme for 2008 of Wines from the Southern Hemisphere.  Each month City Grill features a country or region south of the equator that it feels is making some of the best wines available.  For June, the guest speaker will be Leslie Maske of Prestige Wines. The restaurant will offer a sampling of light hors d’oeuvres to compliment these sumptuous wines from “The Land Down Under”. The festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a social gathering for $25 per person to include the wine tasting and tapas. 

City Grill is also featuring wines from Australia on the wine list throughout the entire month of June.  The wines will also be paired with complimentary dishes on the Chef’s Tasting Menu on June 11 for those who would like to experience a meal dedicated to the delights of the wines from Australia.  Those who attend both the Wine Tasting Event and The Chef’s Tasting Menu will receive the total package for $75 all-inclusive.

City Grill is located in the Hurt Building at 50 Hurt Plaza in downtown Atlanta.  Valet parking is available in the garage adjacent to the restaurant for a nominal fee.

Help VINE Create Cupcake, Wine Evening

VINE in Virginia-Highland will host a Cupcake and Wine pairing event on Wednesday, June 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. To create this event a researcher is needed to assist VINE's sommelier, Chris, in the pairing process. Morton's Offering Wine Tastings

Beginning June 4, Morton’s, The Steakhouse will present Wine Down Wednesdays the first Wednesday of every month. The monthly wine tastings will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the bar area. Featuring a different winery each month, the cost is $12 per person and includes a sampling of three to four wines. Complimentary appetizers will be served. The first tasting on June 4 will feature Pioneers of California – Beringer Stanley Ranch Chardonnay, Robert Mondavi Napa Cabernet, Terra D’Oro Zinfandel.

Morton’s is located at 3379 Peachtree Road in Buckhead. Dinner is served from 5:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sundays. www.mortons.com.
