Herndon Takes Over Kitchen at Pomodoro

Erick Herndon is the new chef at Italiatn restaurant Pomodoro in Virginia Highland. The new chef plans to give back to the community by reaching out to the local schools and offering to help them raise money for their schools.

"For example, we are now working out a deal with Morningside PTSA to come and eat at the restaurant on a Tuesday night in exchange for 20 percent sales back into the school," Herndon said. "I plan to volunteer my time to conduct culinary classes for the kids from these schools."

Herndon's first task was to create a new men featuring more classic Italian fare with a creative twist. Herndon is no stranger to the Atlanta dining scene, having cooked at Buckhead Diner and The Colonnade. He was most recently in Washington D.C. as a sous chef at Sette Bello.
